Founder Spotlight: Richard MacKellar (Celerity Craft)

Meet Richard MacKellar, Founder & CEO of Celerity Craft—a Squamish, BC-based marine tech company redefining sustainable marine and amphibious travel with its Dynamic Air Cushion Vehicle (DACV) technology.

A graduate of the Ocean Startup Project’s 4th Cohort Accelerator Program, Richard and his team are developing an amphibious vessel that uses lift and thrust to hover just above the water on an energized air cushion. By dramatically reducing drag, the DACV enables high-speed, energy-efficient, low-wake travel—and can transition seamlessly from water to land, launching from beaches or standard docks without specialized infrastructure.

With applications ranging from passenger transport to military and commercial fleets, Celerity Craft is charting a cleaner future for marine mobility—targeting zero-emission vessels capable of speeds up to 60 knots.

“We’re helping shape the future of marine mobility.”

“Our Dynamic Air Cushion Vehicle technology has the potential to change the marine transportation industry. From high-speed passenger transport to amphibious operations, our vision is to provide versatile, efficient, and sustainable solutions that meet the needs of today’s evolving markets.”
